D-Splash Camp

D-Splash water Ramp and Trampoline Camp is now in its second season. The camp was started to help build for the future of freestyle skiing. Water ramps and trampolines are not skiing. But as freestyle skiers we spend a lot of time in the air spinning and flipping on slopestyle courses, big air jumps, and half pipes.

Air sense is something that is vital to a freestyle skier. Not only to advance ones self in the sport, but also to prevent injury and help prolong an active involvement in the sport you love.

Water ramps and trampolines help build air awareness without the dangers of landing on snow the first time you attempt a trick/maneuver.  And as we have seen in the progression of this sport over the winter, air awareness has been pushed to the highest levels.

Last summer we were able to develop a lot of new techniques on the tramps which allowed the skiers to have a lot more air sense and comfort with their new tricks.   This allowed the new tricks to be brought safely to the water ramps right after learning them.

We were able to bring in some of the best skiers in the world last summer as well to help coach and train beside the campers.  This year we will be doing the same.  With the additions of Tanner Hall, Phil Casabon, Kaya Turski, and Grete Eliassen we have been able to complete our coaching crew.

At D Splash we want to infuse our campers with the best professional skiers in the world. These professionals will be training as well for their upcoming season. This will help show the campers what drive, skill and motivation it takes to be the best at the sport we love.

New Programs

This year at camp we have two new programs to offer.

The first program is designed to continue the learning after you leave camp.  If you are able to find 10 kids on your team that would like to attend D-Splash this summer, we will fly your team coach out to camp.  Everything will be paid for the coach’s expenses.  Airfare, lodging, food, and transportation will all be covered.  The purpose of this program is for your coach to learn new techniques of coaching in this constantly evolving sport from the people that are evolved at the highest level.  Also, it will allow the coach to bring these techniques back to you as campers and to the program in which he/she coaches.

The next new program we have to offer is our girl camp.  We have brought two of the best skiers in the world as your coaches.  This program will allow the girls to learn from the leaders in their side of the sport in a smaller group.

Quote:

"Water Ramps are important to everyone on skis who wants to progress their skills or just keep the air awareness through the summer. In my younger years when i was 14, 15, and 16 I really took advantage of my local water ramps and tramps. It really helped me with getting alot of the rotations down and had a lot of fun doing it. It's not snow, but its good enough to where you can try different rotations like misty and rodeos and even bios, corks and doubles. The main thing is air awareness, knowing where you are in the air. With landing in a pool it gives you more confidence to commit to the trick you are trying and after awhile you will notice it gets easier and easier and when it's time to bring it to snow. Its still scary but you will have the confidence you need to get it done. The feeling you get from your first attempt of a trick you learned on water to snow and you succeed its great and makes you wanna do more! Thats where and how we can keep progressing this sport we all love so much. So if water ramps can help me as much as they did I'm confident that it can help all of you in the same way only if you are willing to try. Blessed Love!" - Tanner Hall
